Upload & Import

No matter how a document arrives: documents always does the same work and reads, classifies, and indexes the upload for search.

The direct route for individual documents and small batches is Upload documents on the home page.

  1. Open documents.
  2. Select Upload documents.
  3. Drag files in or select them.
  4. Wait until processing is complete.
  5. Check the result in the archive or via search.

For large volumes, scanners, and automated workflows, there is organization-level access under Bulk Upload & Scanner. WebDAV and SFTP use the same displayed username and password.

Open your documents folder directly in Windows Explorer, macOS Finder, or any file manager. Simply drop files in.

SFTP is suitable when many files are transferred regularly. Only use it from devices and applications you trust.

Connect a mailbox from your company—such as the accounting or incoming mailbox—and documents automatically takes over incoming attachments.

  1. Connect the mailbox.
  2. Select the relevant folders.
  3. Set a start date.
  4. Start the historical import.
  5. Check new attachments in the workspace after processing.

Good to know:

  • Only attachments are imported, not the email text as a separate document.
  • Sender, subject, and receipt date are preserved as search and review context.
  • You can extend the historical period later without reconnecting the mailbox.
  • Imported documents land in the workspace and go through normal processing.

You manage your organization’s mailboxes centrally in core under Administration.
